Pre-Owned Filter Grinder

Mahlkönig EK43 — Tall Housing, Flat 98mm Burrs

A pre-owned Mahlkönig EK43 in black, finished in the tall standard-hopper housing. It's one of the most sought-after filter and batch-brew grinders on the market, and this unit has been fully serviced and safety-checked before listing.

The EK43 is Mahlkönig's benchmark large-format grinder, built around a pair of 98mm flat burrs that give it the grind consistency and throughput that specialty roasters and high-volume filter bars rely on. This particular unit is the tall, standard-hopper housing variant — genuinely hard to come by pre-owned, which is part of why the EK43 holds its value so well on the second-hand market.

Before listing, this grinder went through a 60-point safety check and a full service by our qualified technicians. The burrs are in good order and the unit is ready to go straight into service.

Why the EK43 is in such demand

98mm flat burrs

Mahlkönig builds the EK43 around a large 98mm flat burr set, which is what gives it the even particle distribution filter and batch-brew specialists look for over smaller café grinders.

Tall housing variant

This unit carries the standard, taller hopper housing rather than the short-hopper option Mahlkönig also offers for tighter counter spaces — the configuration most high-volume sites prefer for capacity.

Pre-owned value

EK43 units rarely come up second-hand in this condition. Buying pre-owned gets you onto the same platform specialty roasters use, fully serviced, at a fraction of new pricing.

Technician-checked

Every pre-owned machine we list goes through a multi-point safety check and service by our qualified technicians before it's offered for sale.

Ideal For

  • Specialty roasters and cafés running filter or batch brew at volume
  • Coffee schools and training spaces needing a benchmark grinder
  • Operators wanting an EK43 on a pre-owned budget
