Rocket Appartamento TCA Coffee Machine

TCA stands for Temperature Control Adjustment — Rocket's hybrid system that lets you select one of four boiler pressure presets (0.9, 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2 bar), which directly influences brew temperature. You change the setting by actuating the brew lever in a specific sequence (detailed in the manual) — no screens or buttons. The RGB LED confirms the selected preset through colour. Lower settings suit lighter roasts and single origins; higher settings suit darker blends. Once set, the TCA holds that temperature lane repeatably session to session.

Yes, but significantly fewer and shorter than the original Appartamento. The insulated boiler keeps the heat-exchanger water closer to target temperature after idle, reducing how much overheated water needs purging before a shot. After a long idle (30+ minutes), a short flush until the water runs smoothly is recommended; during an active back-to-back session, flushes are minimal or not needed.

The TCA is a ground-up redesign, not an incremental update. It adds 4-step temperature control (the original has none), a fully insulated boiler (around 15% less energy, fewer cooling flushes), a one-piece stainless steel frame, an RGB LED status indicator, a magnetic wider drip tray, a new angular E61 group, an ergonomic chrome-tipped portafilter, an insulated steam wand, larger knobs and an integrated cup tray — plus five colour combinations instead of two.

No — the TCA uses a vibration pump and is designed for reservoir (tank) use only, with a 1.9L removable tank. If plumb-in capability matters, Rocket's rotary-pump models such as the Mozzafiato Cronometro R or Giotto Cronometro R support direct mains connection.
