Barista Accessories — Dosing & Distribution

Nucleus NCD 58.5mm Coffee Distributor by Sasa Sestic

The Nucleus NCD is a coffee distribution tool designed with multiple World Barista Champion Sasa Sestic, built to even out the coffee bed in your portafilter basket before tamping. Place the NCD on top of a dosed basket, spin a few rotations, lift it off, then tamp — the result is a flatter, more even puck and a more consistent extraction, without the collapsing motion some other distribution tools rely on.

This 58.5mm size fits IMS or VST baskets and is available in Titanium or Silver finish. The adjustable top disc lets you set the distribution depth in measured increments to match your dose, and the cross-arm base carries an anti-static coating so coffee grounds don't build up on it during a busy service.

58.5mm — IMS / VST Fit Adjustable Depth Anti-Static Coating Titanium or Silver

Why the NCD

Even DistributionFour angled slopes move coffee in a circular motion to build an even bed before tamping, reducing channelling and micro-channelling.
No Collapsing NeededDistributes the dose without the collapse step some tools require, which can otherwise stratify grinds and vary extraction barista to barista.
Adjustable to Your DoseLoosen the top section, set the depth using measured increments, then tighten back down — suits low doses and larger baskets alike.
Lightweight, Lower Centre of GravityAbout 100g lighter than earlier versions, with weight redistributed for an easier, more consistent spin.
