Why the Moka Express?
🏛️ A Design Icon Since 1933
Designed by Alfonso Bialetti in 1933, the Moka Express has sold over 200 million units worldwide. Its octagonal silhouette is featured in the permanent collections of MoMA New York and design museums globally.
🇮🇹 Authentic Italian Espresso
Brews concentrated, full-bodied coffee that's the foundation of Italian-style cappuccinos, lattes, and espresso shots. The signature flavor profile has defined Italian home coffee for nearly 100 years.
🔥 Octagonal Heat Diffusion
The iconic eight-sided design isn't just aesthetic — it improves heat diffusion across the body, enhancing extraction quality and the aromatic profile of your coffee.
🔌 No Electricity Required
A pure stovetop coffee maker — works on gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops. Perfect for camping, off-grid living, RV trips, or simply when you want a back-to-basics coffee ritual.
⏱️ 5-Minute Brew
From cold start to coffee in your cup — typically just 4–6 minutes. Faster than waiting for a fancy espresso machine to heat up, with none of the complicated dialing-in.
🛠️ Built to Last Decades
Cast aluminum body and replaceable gaskets mean a Moka Express can last 20+ years with basic care. Many Italian families pass theirs down through generations.
How to Brew with the Moka Express
-
Fill the bottom chamber with cold water up to (but not over) the safety valve
-
Insert the funnel filter and fill it with finely ground coffee — level off but don't tamp
-
Screw the top chamber on tightly — wipe any stray grounds from the rim first
-
Place on stovetop over medium heat — too high will scorch the coffee
-
Listen for the gurgle — when you hear a sputtering sound, the coffee is ready
-
Remove from heat immediately and serve into espresso cups or latte glasses
