Description

A rare opportunity to own one of the most coveted home espresso machines ever built. This pre-owned La Marzocco GS3 MP has lived a sheltered life in a domestic kitchen, has been fully serviced by our qualified technicians, and has passed our 60-point safety check — ready to deliver cafe-grade espresso from the moment it lands on your bench.

The GS3 MP (Manual Paddle) is La Marzocco's flagship single-group home machine and the only model in their lineup offering true manual pressure profiling. Handmade in Florence, Italy from genuine commercial components — saturated group head, dual boilers, rotary pump, dual PID — it is widely regarded as the benchmark for thermal stability and shot control at the home level.

Why Choose This Pre-Owned GS3 MP

  • Sparsely used, single-owner domestic machine — exceptionally hard to find in this condition
  • Fully serviced & certified with a 60-point safety check by Di Pacci's qualified technicians
  • Manual paddle pressure profiling — direct mechanical control from 0 to 9 bar via internal conical valve
  • Commercial-grade dual boiler architecture — 1.5 L saturated brew boiler & 3.5 L steam boiler, identical to La Marzocco's cafe machines
  • Dual PID temperature control with industry-leading thermal stability shot after shot
  • Tariffs included in the listed price — no surprise import fees at delivery

Key Features

Manual Paddle & Conical Valve Group

The front-and-center paddle is mechanically linked to a conical valve inside the group head, putting the flow of water — and therefore the pressure on your coffee puck — entirely in your hands. Start with a gentle 3-bar pre-infusion, ramp to a full 9-bar extraction, then taper the pressure down to mimic a classic lever profile. A periscope manometer mounted on the group reads real-time brew pressure directly at the point of extraction.

Dual Boiler with Saturated Group

A dedicated 1.5-liter brew boiler and 3.5-liter steam boiler — the same commercial componentry found in La Marzocco's cafe machines — allow you to pull shots and steam milk simultaneously with no recovery wait. The saturated group head is brazed directly to the brew boiler so water is held at brewing temperature inside the group itself, producing rock-solid thermal stability shot after shot.

Dual PID Temperature Control

Independent PID controllers regulate both the brew and steam boiler temperatures with precision to 0.1°F. Adjust your coffee boiler set point to match light, medium, or dark roast profiles and your steam boiler to dial in milk texture and recovery speed.

Commercial-Grade Steam Power

A full-size articulating cool-touch steam wand draws from the dedicated 3.5-liter steam boiler, delivering dry, powerful steam for silky microfoam in roughly 6–8 seconds — and back-to-back milk drinks without losing pressure. A variable steam valve lever allows fine control or can be locked open for continuous steaming.

Plumb-In or Reservoir

Run the GS3 MP from its built-in water reservoir for full portability, or direct-plumb it to a filtered water line for permanent cafe-style installation. An internal rotary pump delivers smooth, consistent pressure in either configuration, and a hot water economizer mixes boiler and reservoir water to dial in the ideal temperature for tea, Americanos, and rinse.

Built to Last — Ruby Flow Restrictors

Synthetic ruby flow restrictors resist scale formation and erosion, extending the working life of the brew circuit. Combined with La Marzocco's renowned build quality, the GS3 MP is engineered to run for decades with proper care.

Condition & Service

This GS3 MP arrived at our Brooklyn showroom in excellent overall condition. It was used domestically only, sparsely, by a single owner — the kind of low-hour pre-owned La Marzocco that is genuinely hard to come by on the secondary market.

Before listing, every used machine that passes through Di Pacci is run through our 60-point inspection and full service protocol by fully qualified technicians:

  • Boilers descaled, flushed, and pressure-tested
  • Group head rebuilt with new gaskets and screens
  • Steam wand, hot water tap, and seals replaced or refurbished as required
  • Pump pressure calibrated and verified
  • Brew and steam temperatures PID-tuned to spec
  • Full electrical and safety check
  • Cosmetic detail and final test extractions

Who It's For

The GS3 MP is built for the serious home barista, the experimental enthusiast, the coffee roaster who needs a reliable test platform, and the boutique cafe or pop-up operator who wants commercial componentry in a compact single-group footprint. If you have ever wanted to truly drive the shot — not just press a button — this is the machine designed for it.

Pair it with a quality conical or flat-burr grinder (Mahlkonig E65S, Eureka Atom 75, or a Mythos-class commercial grinder) and a refractometer if you want to dial pressure profiles against measured extraction yield.

Pre-owned GS3 MP machines in this condition do not stay on the floor for long. If you have been waiting for the right one, this is it.
