Di Pacci — Compact Dual-Boiler E61 Espresso Machine

ACS Minima Compact Coffee Machine

The ACS Minima fits a true dual boiler with a 2.3 litre steam boiler into a body just 270 mm wide.

The ACS Minima is a hand-built Italian dual boiler espresso machine with an 800 ml brew boiler and a 2.3 litre steam boiler, both made from AISI 316L stainless steel. Each boiler has its own PID loop, the display doubles as a shot timer, and the 58 mm E61 solenoid group takes standard accessories.

What sets it apart is how much boiler it packs into a small footprint: 270 mm wide, 370 mm high and 440 mm deep. Last Shot Protection lets a shot finish even if the 2.6 litre tank runs low mid-extraction, and a priority mode keeps the draw within a standard 10 amp power point.

Key Features of the ACS Minima

🔥 2.3 L steam boiler

A large steam boiler for a compact machine, so several milk drinks in a row don't run it flat.

🌡️ Independent PIDs

Brew and service boilers each have their own controller, so changing one temperature never affects the other.

🧪 316L stainless boilers

Both boilers are AISI 316L stainless with welded-in Incoloy elements, chosen for durability and corrosion resistance.

🛡️ Last Shot Protection

If the tank runs low mid-shot the extraction still finishes, then the pump locks until you refill.

⏱️ Built-in shot timer

The PID display times every shot and flags low water, so dialling in needs no extra gadgets.

💨 Two steam tips

A two-hole tip for learning and a three-hole tip for speed once your technique is confident.

Why a Big Steam Boiler in a Small Machine

Compact dual boilers usually save space by shrinking the steam boiler. The Minima keeps the steam boiler large and trims the brew boiler instead, because brewing only needs a small volume held at a precise temperature.

  • The 800 ml brew boiler is enough for back-to-back shots and settles quickly at the PID set point.
  • The 2.3 litre service boiler holds a deep reserve of steam, so pressure stays up through consecutive milk jugs.
  • A priority mode heats one boiler at a time at 1200 W, keeping the machine on a standard 10 amp circuit.

The result is steaming power closer to a much larger machine, on a bench that would normally only fit a single boiler.

ACS Minima vs Lelit Bianca V3

The Lelit Bianca V3 is the usual next step up in a dual boiler. Here's where the extra money goes.

Feature ACS Minima Lelit Bianca V3
Boilers 0.8 L brew / 2.3 L steam 0.8 L brew / 1.5 L steam
Pump Vibration Rotary
Flow control Not fitted Built-in paddle on the E61 group
Water tank 2.6 L 2.5 L
Width 270 mm Wider body; check bench space

Di Pacci recommendation: Choose the Minima if you want serious steam power on a narrow bench without paying for flow profiling. Don't bother with it if you want a quiet rotary pump or a plumbed connection; the Lelit Bianca V3 is the better buy there.

Best Grinders for the ACS Minima

Pick a grinder that fits the same compact footprint and can make fine espresso adjustments.

Grinder Burr Why it pairs well
Niche Zero 63 mm conical Single-dose with near-zero retention and a small footprint to match the Minima
Eureka Mignon Specialita 55 55 mm flat Quiet, stepless, and narrow enough to sit beside the machine
Turin DF64 Gen 2 64 mm flat Single-dose flat burr clarity for lighter roasts and milk drinks alike

ACS Minima Compact Coffee Machine — Frequently Asked Questions

Does the ACS Minima need a 15 amp power point?

No. The ACS Minima runs on a standard 10 amp power point. Its maximum draw is 2200 W, and a priority mode limits it to 1200 W by heating one boiler at a time.

Can the ACS Minima be plumbed in?

No. The Minima is a tank-only machine with a 2.6 litre removable reservoir and a low-water sensor.

How big are the ACS Minima boilers?

The brew boiler is 800 ml and the service boiler is 2.3 litres, both AISI 316L stainless steel with their own PID control.

Does the ACS Minima have pre-infusion?

There is no adjustable pre-infusion. The vibration pump builds pressure gradually and the E61 solenoid group is set up for a gentle ramp, which suits most espresso recipes.

What is Last Shot Protection?

If the tank runs low or the service boiler refills during a shot, the Minima finishes the shot before locking the pump until you refill, so you don't lose a half-pulled espresso.

ACS Minima for our office/workshop

We have had our beautiful ACS Minima at our office/workshop for a little while now as we were replacing it with a DeLonge machine as it failed.
The choices are endless & after quite a bit of research we decided with around 6 regular coffee drinkers in our premises on a dual boiler with an E61 group head, we have a timer at work so it goes on half hour before anyone turns up with only the E61 boiler on, then the first person in turns the steam boiler on as it heats quick enough to be ready by the time the first shot gets expressed.
Our first impressions out of the box were just wow, it is such a lovely looking machine & really well built, we are mostly technician's besides a couple of office staff so we are always critical of how things are made & this one has please all in it's build quality & looks.
We had a little trial & error getting the amount of grinds right into the portafilter but once we get it sorted for 9 bars pressure & got the grind right it has been fantastic. It is ripping out shot after shot perfectly (Well for us amateurs as we are not barristers) & everyone is not daunted by using it anymore.
The steam & hot water boiler is just awesome, being able to express & use the steam or some like tea so the instant boiling water is a great addition not waiting for a kettle to boil.
It easily keeps up with everyone having a few cups a day & would highly recommend it to anyone & now I need one for home.

Parts were non existent in Australia. Service techs didn't want to touch it. Broke down twice in 4 years. Not good value. Better off putting your money into a really good grinder and a breville coffee machine
